Electrical Engineer

Role Overview: We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Electrical Engineer to lead and manage critical electrical projects, including maintenance, retrofitting, and troubleshooting of MV and LV systems. This role requires a strong technical background, particularly in MV and LV breaker systems, control circuits, and transformer servicing. The ideal candidate will demonstrate leadership capabilities, effective client coordination, and a meticulous approach to site surveys and project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Panel Maintenance:

  • Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of electrical panels to identify and mitigate potential issues. This includes checking for signs of overheating, wear, or damage to ensure all components are functioning safely and effectively.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute a preventive maintenance plan, which includes routine cleaning, tightening of connections, and timely replacement of components. This proactive approach helps in preventing unexpected failures and extending the lifespan of the equipment.
  • Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs): Manage AMCs, ensuring that all maintenance work is carried out as per the agreed schedule and standards. Coordinate with clients for maintenance visits, ensuring minimal disruption to their operations.

2. Breaker Testing and Retrofitting:

  • LV and MV Breaker Testing : Perform detailed testing of LV and MV breakers, including insulation resistance, contact resistance, and dynamic testing for MV breakers. Ensure all breakers meet operational standards and are capable of handling the required load.
  • Protection Relay Testing: Conduct testing and calibration of protection relays, including master trip, trip supervision, and numerical relays. Ensure all relays are accurately set to provide reliable protection to the electrical system.
  • MV Breaker Retrofitting (11kV to 33kV) : Lead the retrofitting of MV breakers, including the transition from SF6 to VD4 breakers. This involves detailed planning, site surveys, and ensuring that new breakers are fully compatible with the existing system
  • LV Breaker Retrofitting : Manage the retrofitting of LV breakers, focusing on ensuring compatibility with the existing system and improving efficiency. This includes evaluating whether components like CTs, TNC switches, load managers, or annunciators need to be replaced during the retrofit.
  • ACB Breaker Retrofitting : Lead the retrofitting of Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs), including assessing whether the breakers are MDO (Manual Draw-Out) or EDO (Electrical Draw-Out). Conduct site surveys to determine the need for component replacements, such as current transformers (CTs), trip-neutral-close (TNC) switches, load managers, and annunciators.
  • Comprehensive Site Surveys : Before replacing any breaker, conduct a thorough site survey to gather all necessary details, including the type of breaker (MDO or EDO), the condition of existing components, and any required replacements. This ensures a smooth and efficient retrofitting process.
